FAQs

Do lash extensions damage your natural lashes?

No. When eyelash extensions are applied correctly, they do not damage the natural lashes. Proper aftercare will ensure this does not happen as well.

Will the procedure hurt or be uncomfortable?

No, the application process completely pain-free. Many clients fall asleep during the service. Although if you are talking through the procedure, it can cause the eye pads and tape to move, which can cause discomfort. If any discomfort is felt, please let me know so I can correct it. Please keep talking during the appointment to a minimum to avoid this!

How long does it take?

Here at Cavalash, we value the quality of work over cutting corners and faster timing. As such, a lash extension service can take anywhere from 1.5 - 3.hours. At the end of your appointment, if there is anything wrong or anything you are unhappy with, please let me know so I can help fix the issu

How often should I be coming back for fills?

There is no set time. Each person should come back as everyone's lash growth cycle is different. With that being said, I do recommend for a first time fill to return in two weeks so together we can accurately assess your lash growth cycle and book future appointments accordingly.

How many lashes should I expect to lose?

It’s estimated that you will lose 3-5 lash extensions, so don't stress if you lose a couple right after the appointment as that's supposed to happen. Although if you lose a significant amount in the first day or two, please let me know immediately within two days of your appointment) so I can assess why they shed prematurely as well as inform you so that it does not happen again.

Do you fill other artists work?

Yes. Many clients come for 'outside' fills. If their extensions are not up to standards for the safety of the natural lashes, I will have to remove them and redo the full set safely. Please contact me to book a consultation before booking outside fills. Also, there will be an additional $30 charge for outside fills.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Please arrive at your appointment makeup-free with clean lashes (I charge a $15 fee for dirty lashes because dirty lashes = less time to lash). Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment because it can make your eyes (and body) very jittery while you are lying for an extended period.

How long do they last?

As everyone has different lash cycles and daily habits, there is no guarantee of how long they last. The extensions put on, the natural lashes, your aftercare habits and much more can influence the strength of the bond. To ensure full lashes, please book fills according to guidelines above and follow all aftercare instructions.

What are the types of lash extensions?

There are three types of lash extensions that I use, all synthetic. There is silk; they have a glossy bold black finish. Synthetic mink, which has a matte black finish and is lighter than silk due to the taper. Flat which is only used for classics or hybrids, which is a flattened lash. It has a much bolder black look.

  • There are also different diameters of lashes I use, and they go from 0.03mm-0.07mm (volume) to 0.10mm - 0.15mm (classic).

  • The lengths go from 6mm-15mm (not everyone is suitable for longer lengths.

  • Also, a variety of curls to choose from to customize your lashes. [ B, C, CC, D, L, L+, M (coming soon) ]

What is the application process like?

The process is entirely painless. First, the lashes will quickly be cleansed just in case there is any dirt and debris; this also increases retention! The bottom lashes will be secured down to isolate only the top lashes. With your eyes completely closed, the extensions will be applied to individual natural lashes with a lash specific adhesive. After the set is complete, your eyes will be misted with a special nano-mister to cure the bonds. If you have sensitive eyes, it’ll follow with a post-cleanse and then you will open your eyes to a beautiful set of lashes.
